The design

CPR – training in CPR, with a responsive mannequin bust, that helps the user face the psychological blocks and feeling of urgency during cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

  1. This tool uses the latest technology in hand tracking.
  2. Use of the defibrillator and all its functionality is also covered
  3. Two modes: Guided – where hints are offered to the student indicating what actions must be performed to complete the basic CPR algorithm correctly. Unguided Mode – the student must perform without any indication (designed to improve the processes of accommodation and assimilations of knowledge.
  4. The trainer is key in energizing this training, resolving doubts and making points. Both modes allow for group training.
  5. The trainer can enable different real-time situations and recreate unexpected situations.
  6. The mannequin bust is connect to the tool software. Student performs cardiac massage on the bust itself. The tool detects the student’s compressions and provides information for the student to make the appropriate corrections.
  7. The depth and pace values collected by the bust are shown to the student and the rest of the class in real time. Depth and pace values are also recorded in the system and used for student evaluation.
  8. Virtual AED (automated defibrillator) simulates all the functionalities of a real AED. Detects if the patient is conscious and/or breathing and type of breathing (ex. Gasping). Also detects movements in the patients (ex. When student touches it).
  9. Configurable Options: patient with hair on chest, patient with chain on chest, patient breathing, patient with agonizing breathing.
  10. Trainer can modify configuration options in real time testing – activate breathing, activate nervous person nearby, activate indiscreet person nearby.
  11. Scenarios available: office, airport, urban environment, train station, mall, and hospital
  12. Data/Statistics for reports:
    1. Exercise Time
    2. Total session time
    3. Mistakes
    4. Values of depth and pace of compressions
    5. Approved/Not approved
